Poor kitty....
Well, I had one hell of a day.
And there I was... my FIRST real day as acting NCOIC of my clinic... no head nurse... just me. And what happens... the power goes out in my apartemnt some time around 2am. Leaving me with a terrible wake up call at 0906. I roll over... thinking wow. I slept for hours finally... first night since dave left. Then... the realization that it is WAY TO BRIGHT in my room to be 0630, when I needed to get up for work. I look over, and there it is... my trusty alarm clock.... blinking 0518... and my body kicks in to high gear.
Grabbing my cell phone to check the time (0906... work started at 0730) and simultaneously grabbing my home phone to call work... I RUSH through the house tazmanian devil style and am in uniform and out the front door in 11 minutes. No shower... no breakfast.
I get in to my clinic at 0927.... not bad time considering. Everyone picks on me... but amazingly, no one bitched at me. So... I thought my day wouldn't be so bad.
WRONG!
My "Personal Trainer" (aka SSG Boulier) kicked my ABS at the gym (lol) and I feel like a walking zombie by the time I get home about 645pm. Then, my Cat is hurt... or sick... or something. Just acting REALLY wierd. They got shots yesterday, so I get scared and call the vet... who tells me I need to bring her in, and it will be $68 dollars for the visit PLUS and procedural fees. *OMFG??!!!* I ask what the standard proceedure would be... and she said fluids and they would monitor her overnight.
SO... I would pay more than $100 to have my cat babysat over night... PLUS have to drive and HOUR in to Savannah with a sick cat... and use all that gas. FOR WATER AND A CAGE!?
So, I took my kitty to a friends house to isolate her from the other cats... watched her for a few hours and got some fluid in her. Brough her home... she RAN out of th carrier... ate, and is now happily purring and bathing on the bed. No harm... and no money lost.
Guess the day ended well. I had a good night with friends... talked, played poker (THANK GOD we weren't playing strip poker... although I didn't lose... I cam in second.) And had a good time. Now that I have bored you all with my simple life... I will go for now.
OH!!! and Tim called... i will save that for tomorrow cause I just don't have the strength to deal with it. I am gonna take a bath and have a glass of wine... and sleep till noon... then I will broach that subject.

awww poor jen. give your kitty my deepest regards.
I Soooo hated those type of days Jenni. I remember once in Iraq we had a lay-over at a base cause the roads went black. We were on a mission for 4 days already and i was feeling under the weather. Dont let anyone ever tell you it doesnt get cold in the dessert let alone Iraq. I took some contact to help me sleep, welp it did what it was supposed to do. I had one of my troops waking me up 30 minutes after i was supposed to be at a staging area for a convoy brief. It felt so good to sleep that long, but to go from knocked out to fully dressed in Full battle rattle in 2 seconds flat SUCKS! i think back and laugh. GOOD TIMES!
I can empathize with your day. You can read my post on my blog to see why I understand, but that would be shameless plugging I guess. At least we ALWAYS have an excuse to be grumpy - deployed husbands!
